A career between science and deal-making

I started out as a researcher at the CNRS (Gif-sur-Yvette and Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital), working on gene regulation and transgenic mouse models for gene therapy in Parkinson's disease.

I then joined Servier, where I held successive roles as Clinical Project Manager (development and launch of a new antidepressant, Valdoxan, marketing authorization in 2009), then Non-Clinical Project Manager on neurodegenerative diseases, before taking over as head of the Non-Clinical Department of the Neuropsychiatry R&D unit. I moved into Business Development as Licensing/BD Director for Neurology & Mental Health, where I led deals such as the licensing and co-development agreement with Neurochlore in infantile autism, and the $450M licensing deal with equity with GeNeuro in multiple sclerosis. Five deals in five years in all, across every stage of development, on small molecules and biologics.

At UCB, I became Global Business Development Director and then Global Transactions Director for the Neurology, Immunology and Rare Diseases departments. I took part in major transactions, from due diligence through to negotiation and closing: the $1.9B acquisition of Zogenix (rare epilepsies Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut), the $2B out-licensing of an anti-Tau antibody to Roche in Alzheimer's disease, and the creation of the GRIN Therapeutics spin-off in rare epilepsy, acquired by the US investment fund Blackstone Life Sciences.

After a period as VP Business Development at GenSight Biologics (gene therapy in ophthalmology) and then VP BD and Executive Committee member at Mnemo Therapeutics (immuno-oncology, CAR-T), I founded Bio-BD in 2023 to work directly with the leaders of biotechs and medtechs on their partnering strategy, their fundraising and their deal-making.
